This is a GREAT book! If you are a tinkerer or enjoy building your own kayaks or are planning on building a kayak, especially from plans or your own design this book is a thorough reference manual on kayak building.

The authors take three different kayak kits, a Pygmy Coho, a CLC Mill Creek, and Bear Mountain Enterprise, and document the construction in a day by day format.  Prior to delving into the construction of each kit they cover the basics from kayak history to the practical matters of setting up shop.  They also cover tips and tricks to making your building experience less painful and more fruitful.

This book is in color and is chock full of great photographs. For the amount of information provided it is practically a steal!
